Lamplight Inn

Step back from today’s fast pace, and join us by the fire in the Parlor. Located 45 minutes from the Raleigh-Durham airport and less than 2 miles from interstate 85, The Lamplight Inn resides on a 150 year old, 5 acre tobacco farm. Let us beckon you with the soft glow of the many chimney lamps used to light this restored farm. Relax on the wraparound porch or stroll the grounds. A short drive will bring you to the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area to enjoy sailing, fishing, water skiing and hiking. This 50,000-acre, man-made lake is a haven for water sports enthusiasts and landlubbers alike.

“Beautiful 1850’s country home with a nice, accommodating host. We enjoyed our second stay at the Lamplight Inn. We stayed in the “Gone With the Wind” room. The sweet owner, Ms. Payne gave us homemade fudge when we arrived. There were soft drinks and snacks in the dining room. She made us a good breakfast of fruit compote, omelet and grits per my husband’s special request, sausages and delicious buttery biscuits, (served on china). The house has a wraparound porch with lots of seating and tables, and the grounds are lovely with several old buildings scattered about… lots of history.”

“Perfect little getaway. I stayed here for two nights in the Pirate’s Den cabin and I loved it! It was a very good value and I definitely preferred the privacy of the cabin to a hotel. The cabin was clean; it just had the feel of staying in a relative’s cabin or something. Pretty much everything you needed was in there; utensils, plates, towels, a can opener, etc. just to name a few. There was a fire pit outside which I utilized and spent a nice quiet night with my boyfriend and dog by the fire. There are plenty of nice fishing spots nearby at Kerr Lake and Nutbush Creek. All in all, it was a great stay in a very nice area.”

“Peaceful Country Stay. My wife and I spent the weekend at the Lamplight Inn and had a wonderful time. 150 year old farmhouse converted to an Inn with Cabin Rentals, run by charming people. The breakfast served both mornings was fabulous. A perfect place to stay if you want want to relax in the country away from it all. A relaxing trip back in time! Don’t miss the chance to stay at this sweet B&B.”
