Remember the “good old days” when peace and quiet were a given? Step back in time to spend a night at an inn filled with antiques on a lake with the serenity of days gone by. Come watch the sunset with two retired school teachers who love to meet new friends. Lake Waccamaw – the best kept secret in North Carolina. This beautiful lake, nestled in a sleepy little village, is a lure to vacationers who like the serenity of peace and quiet in old-fashioned surroundings. Historically, this was a lodge where hunters and fishermen came yearly to enjoy the out-of-doors. Today, it is an artist’s delight with a second-story sun porch (decorated like an old fashioned soda parlor) overlooking the lake. The breath-taking sunsets glow on the horizon and set the lake afire with color.
“My wife and I had a very pleasant weekend at this B&B on the shores of Lake Waccamaw. The room we stayed in had a comfortable queen size bed and a reasonably large private bathroom. The rooms, on the second floor, also share a pleasant balcony overlooking the lake that has a TV, plenty of reading material, and a small refrigerator. There are interesting antiques throughout. The hosts were wonderful and very welcoming, full of stories about the history of the area. The breakfast was very good and filling, perfect before a day of kayaking the lake. The house has it’s own dock and pier onto the lake making access easy. And the price made this an excellent value. All in all I’ll certainly stay here again when I want to visit the lake.”
“Had a great bed and breakfast experience here. Couldn’t have been a better first time at Lake Waccamaw. The hosts were very sweet and made us feel right at home, like we were visiting our folks. The building is an old hotel. Bed was very soft and room was very clean. Each room had its own bathroom and shower. Nice sitting area upstairs with scenic view over the lake and a walkout porch balcony. There’s also a boat dock on the lake to fish off of. The location on the lake is great, too. Good breakfast with good people. Highly recommended.”

Inside the warmth of antiques and Southern hospitality await your pleasure as you read or play the piano in the music room, lounge in the great room, or rock on the screened in front porch. Guest are welcome to sit on the dock and feed the ducks, wet a hook, soak up the sun, or just enjoy the spectacular view of the lake surrounded by woods.”
