“We love coming back! My husband and I have been coming to Big Mill since our honeymoon in 2011. We make plans to come back each year around our anniversary and around my birthday. We always enjoy visiting with Cloe when we arrive to check in. We like to ask her about wildlife in the area and what is blooming, or hatching. This visit, we stayed in the Corn Cribb. We had packed a light supper, which we ate in the comfortable private sitting area of the suite. As Cloe promises, we had a lovely lake view. Our room was cool and relaxing, and we got up the next morning refreshed. Cloe includes a delicious and healthful breakfast for her guests. She makes scrumptious quiche, sweet loaf bread, granola, and fresh jams. We also enjoyed some of the fresh blueberries Cloe grew. My husband and I always are very thankful for our time together at Big Mill.”
“Perfect 25th Anniversary Destination. We stayed for 1 night at Big Mill and there was NO disappointment. It is the perfect place to unwind and take some great down time! We arrived early and Chloe met us on the porch with a big smile and Happy Anniversary greeting and sign! She took us on a casual tour and our Suite was all perfectly ready, cleaned and looked just like the pictures on website with no detail forgotten! We brought our own lunch and had a great place to dine outside by our room and the celebration began! Details, details, details – Chloe hasn’t missed one! Everything is already thought of! We would go back in a minute! From Wake Forest, NC area only 1.5 hour drive with a couple of stops so easy travel! Go & enjoy!”
“Can’t wait to go back! We celebrated my wife’s 40th birthday at BIG MILL and what a treat it was. We brought along two other couples that are dear friends. Everyone experienced a WONDERFUL visit. We ate steamed oysters and shrimp at Sunnyside Oyster bar. After dinner we shared birthday cake and champagne out in the barn behind the main house of the Inn. It was a PERFECT evening. After dinner, we each retreated to our own wonderful suites. We actually stayed in the Mardi Gras suite in the main house and the others were out in the Packhouse and Corn Crib located in the barn. Chloe had filled our refrigerators with a wonderful breakfast quiche, orange juice, homemade breads with homemade jam, and a nice plate of fruit. Everything was delicious! And we really liked the fact that each couple could eat when they were ready rather than having a dedicated breakfast time. The grounds are lovely, the hospitality is wonderful and it was one of the very best weekends I can remember. We only stayed one night and I wish we could have stayed a week!. Chloe is so very accomodating and this is one peaceful and beautiful place that we recommend very highly! We can’t wait to go back!”
