ABOUT North Carolina Bed & Breakfast Inns

NCBBI is a non-profit, statewide organization established in 1985 by a concerned group of innkeepers recognizing the need for an association that would ensure high standards in safety, housekeeping, food service, comfort and hospitality for all member inns so that the traveling public could stay in these lodgings with confidence. It was one of the first such organizations in the country to become established.

Discover peaceful nourishment and nature’s lullaby in rural landscapes. Check into a wonderful Bed and Breakfast in the heart of town to find historic streets at your doorstep. Choose from historic Victorians, cozy farmhouses, delightful family homes, or elegant mansions. NCBBI member inns must pass a rigorous inspection. Guests at NCBBI member bed and breakfasts and inns can be assured of the highest standards in quality, safety, housekeeping, food service, comfort and hospitality.

About Lake Shore Lodge
Remember the “good old days” when peace and quiet were a given? Step back in time to spend a night at an inn filled with antiques on a lake with the serenity of days gone by. Come watch the sunset with two retired school teachers who love to meet new friends. Lake Waccamaw – the best kept secret in North Carolina. This beautiful lake, nestled in a sleepy little village, is a lure to vacationers who like the serenity of peace and quiet in old-fashioned surroundings. Historically, this was a lodge where hunters and fishermen came yearly to enjoy the out-of-doors. Today, it is an artist’s delight with a second-story sun porch (decorated like an old fashioned soda parlor) overlooking the lake. The breath-taking sunsets glow on the horizon and set the lake afire with color.
